How To Add New Content to my6sense

One of the best things my6sense users find is that our service is able to find the best content just for them from a wide variety of sources - from RSS feeds to Twitter, Facebook and Google Buzz. Unlike other aggregation services, which can get increasingly noisy with the more information added, my6sense just gets better. With so many new users coming to my6sense (especially on Android) in the last few weeks, we wanted to highlight how you can bring new content to my6sense, and start having the best content float to the top.

Clicking the Streams Button Shows Your Subscriptions

On our Android application, used for this example, you can add new content by clicking on the "Streams" button. In this page, you can see all the sources you are subscribed to, and a + button at the top right. The + button is the key for you to add new sites - as many as you wish!

Click + On the Streams to Add More

When you hit this + button, there are four ways you can add new content to my6sense, namely Topics, Social, Import and Website. Topics include bundled sources hand-picked by my6sense. Social streams ask you to add your Twitter, Facebook or Google Buzz content. Import pulls from Google Reader for RSS and Website lets you add any domain in the world that contains a news feed.

Hand-Picked Topic Bundles from my6sense

Topics

my6sense has curated many different topics for anything you like, from technology, such as Android, iPhone and Social Media, but also Economy, Entertainment, Food and many more. Simply click the checkmark next to any topic, hit Add a the bottom of the screen, and hand-picked feeds will appear in your streams. Your digital intuition will be applied so you still see only the best stuff, just for you.

Social

my6sense finds the best content from your social streams in a way that is personal - something that Twitter and Google Buzz do not offer today, and one where Facebook relies heavily on social filtering - not your own interests. Add the networks you like and they too will be added to your my6sense, all the best stuff, all the best links, in one place.

Importing RSS from Google Reader

Import

Google Reader is the most popular RSS reader on the Web today, and for good reason. Thousands of people turn to the product every day to find the best from the Web. If you want to start personalizing your Google Reader experience in my6sense, click import and we will import your OPML feed, immediately ranking the best stuff in your streams, improving all the time.

Adding the my6sense blog to my6sense

Website

Sometimes you hear of a Web site or bump into it on your day to day browsing, which you would like to add to my6sense. Add the URL, hit OK, and my6sense will do the work to find the feed and add it to the streams. You can browse that feed on its own, in both relevance and by time mode, and get the best from that Web site just for you.
